Slip and Fall on Wet Carpeting
The plaintiff in this claim was at a business establishment where she slipped and fell on wet carpeting. The carpet had been cleaned the previous evening after closing hours but had not sufficiently dried prior to the business opening the next day. There were no signs to warn visitors that the carpeting was wet and to proceed with caution. She suffered a meniscus tear in her knee that required surgery. The claim settled for $55,000.
